Service for America is an initiative by the White House Office of the National Cyber Director to bridge the gap between Americans and good-paying jobs in cyber. This campaign, co-hosted by the White House Office of Management and Budget and the Office of Personnel Management, is set to run from September 4 to the end of October. As the world becomes increasingly digital, all cyber jobs play a critical role in national security.
President Joe Biden has made filling the half a million cybersecurity jobs that remain unfilled a priority for his administration. By joining the Nation’s cyber workforce, individuals can contribute to securing the nation. To kick off the campaign, White House National Cyber Director Harry Coker Jr. has shared insights on the importance of addressing the cybersecurity job gap.
The Service for America campaign will feature various events aimed at connecting job seekers with opportunities in the cyber workforce. One such event is the Fall 2024 Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP) Virtual Hiring Fair on September 5, providing military spouses with full-time and part-time employment opportunities, including remote work in the cyber field.
Other upcoming events include webinars on navigating USAJOBS for job seekers interested in technology, artificial intelligence, or cybersecurity jobs, as well as career fairs such as the National Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Week Conference Career and Recruitment Fair on September 15.
