Europe and Latin America & the Caribbean recently came together for a high-level policy dialogue on cybersecurity in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The dialogue, which was opened by the Minister of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic, focused on key cybersecurity issues such as cyberdiplomacy, resilient ecosystems, capacity building, and the protection of critical infrastructure. Over 150 senior government representatives from both regions, as well as other stakeholders, participated in the dialogue.

The Dialogue highlighted the importance of workforce capacity building, multi-stakeholder cooperation, strengthened cyber ecosystems, and secure connectivity in addressing cyber threats that transcend geographical boundaries. It also emphasized the need for robust national and regional cybersecurity ecosystems, along with policies and regulatory frameworks, to detect, mitigate, and recover from cyber-attacks. The collaboration between Europe and Latin America & the Caribbean aims to enhance global cybersecurity and contribute to a free, open, safe, and secure cyberspace, aligning with shared values and norms in multilateral fora.
