Qualys has unveiled an upgrade to its AI-powered cloud-native application protection platform, TotalCloud, which offers a single prioritised view of cloud risk. TotalCloud 2.0 is the first version of the platform that extends its protection to software as a service (SaaS) applications. The software is capable of producing insights about risk exposure that are instrumental in mitigating threats across multi-cloud environments. “Efficiently managing risk and responding quickly to threats or attacks on cloud workloads is challenging for organisations,” said Melinda Marks, practice director of cybersecurity at Enterprise Strategy Group.

Qualys TotalCloud 2.0 correlates unique indicators from Qualys’ Cloud Workload Protection, Cloud Security Posture Management and Cloud Detection and Response products, as well as infrastructure posture, to address the most harmful threats more quickly. The platform is also the first of its kind to incorporate SaaS security posture management functionality, designed to ensure configurations and permissions across apps such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace are merged into the user’s overall security posture. TotalCloud 2.0 also scans all open-source software pre-and-post deployment and integrates with IT service management tools such as ServiceNow and Jira, according to a company blog post.

Users can sign up for a free trial of TotalCloud with TruRisk Insights, with general availability commencing immediately after that program ends, according to a company statement.
