Between the medical device vulnerabilities and cybersecurity challenges discussed this week, hospitals and health systems need to strengthen their defenses. MedSec introduced a Hospital Roadmap to Resilience Program to help struggling hospitals meet federal cybersecurity goals. Additionally, a new study by Diligent Institute and Bitsight found that companies with advanced cybersecurity performance have higher financial success.
The MedSec program aims to help hospitals improve their cybersecurity postures, understand recovery needs, and manage network risks. Similarly, the study by Diligent and Bitsight showed that companies with strong cybersecurity performance deliver four times higher financial performance. This highlights the importance of cybersecurity as an enterprise risk with significant impacts on a company’s performance and long-term health.
Furthermore, the FDA and CloudWave extended their threat intelligence partnership to reduce cybersecurity risks in the healthcare sector. The partnership aims to rapidly share medical device vulnerabilities and threat information to protect patient safety. This collaboration will provide healthcare organizations with resources to assess and mitigate cybersecurity vulnerabilities in their products and medical devices.
