In the international cybersecurity exercise Locked Shields 2024, the combined team of Estonia and France emerged with the highest score. The exercise, organized by the NATO Cyber Center, focused on defending government computer networks and information systems from sophisticated cyberattacks. Teams in blue played the role of defense, while teams in red were on the offense, simulating crisis conditions.
The exercise aimed to strengthen defense capabilities, create future strategies, and provide participants with a realistic understanding of cyber attacks’ impact. It involved about 4000 experts from 40 countries, including Ukraine. Participants gained experience in applying legal, strategic, and communication tactics, while also gaining insights into cybersecurity, digital forensics, and legal issues. The exercise emphasized teamwork, adaptability, and quick thinking under pressure.
