The compromised data, which includes details like names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses, is currently being offered for sale on the dark web. boAt Lifestyle is actively investigating the breach, but this incident is part of a larger trend of cybersecurity breaches targeting Indian enterprises. Over the past few months, companies like Motilal Oswal, Polycab, and Bira 91 have also fallen victim to cybercriminals. Notably, the LockBit cyber extortionist group has targeted multiple organizations worldwide, including technology companies and pharmaceutical firms.
